Solomon was founded in 1973, it was the first electronic components sales agency in Taiwan. Currently it is a listed company and one of the top 200 technology companies in Taiwan.

Solomon started its business in three main areas: power generators, electronic components, and welding equipment; in 1984, Solomon became the official distributor for Cummins, the world´s largest professional heavy-duty diesel engine manufacturer. In 1989, Solomon entered Liquid Crystal Display business. In 1994, Solomon built a headquarter in Nangkang, Taipei. In the meantime, Solomon expanded its business into other fields such as semiconductor (TM Tech and UTC) and battery (NiMH battery in corporation with Toshiba).

Solomon went IPO in December 1996. In 1998, divisions of smart cards, wireless communications and photoelectric automation were spun off(Smartnet  Corp., Solomon Wireless Technology Corp. , and Solomon Sensor-tech. Corp. accordingly). The following year, “Solomon Group” was established. Solomon first acquired Qing Cheng Limited, a leading electronic distributor in Mainland China with revenue exceeding USD$200M. In the same year Solomon also acquired the LCD IC design team from Motorola and founded Solomon Systech. Solomon also founded Solomon Microtech which was specialized in SIM Card IC.

In 2000 Solomon became the major shareholder of Goldentek Technology Co. in order to integrate its LCD business. In April of 2001, Solomon moved into its office in Neihu Building, and successfully made Oracle ERP system on-line. Between 2002 and 2003, the division of system software, Yu Mun International Trading (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., and Solomon Trading (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. were set up in succession.

In 2009, Solomon acquired Data International a listed company in Taiwan. Solomon expanded its product line from LCD and LCM to niche product in EMS. In the same year, Solomon became the sole distributor for Rockwell Automation in Taiwan. In 2010, Solomon also became the distributor for GE Gas Engine in China for sales and maintenance. Motion Division was also established in the same year, this division supplies motion products pneumatics from SMC, machine vision, robots and linear motion.

Solomon is headquartered in Taipei, Taiwan; its business scope mainly covers electrical power, including fuel-engine power generation systems and gas-engine generation system, industrial automation products, display panel, and electronic components; its service locations are widely spread in the Asia-Pacific region and in Great China, such as Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing, Tianjin, Jinan, Suzhou, Xiamen, Shenzhen, Dongguan, Chengdu, Chongqing, Xi´an, Wuhan, and Hefei. Solomon provides sophisticated, one-stop-shop supply chain solutions to meet customers´ needs.
